Environmental degradation:

Environmental degradation is deterioration of the environment through depletion of resource such as air, water and soil. the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wildlife. (Simply undesirable change in the environment and surrounding which affect the life or create potential helth hazards for living organism )
Environmental degradation is one of ten Threats officially cautioned by the High Level Threat panel of the UN in 1998 itself .According to UN “The reduction of the capacity of the environment to meet social and ecological objectives, and needs”.
Environmental degradation is a result of the dynamic inter play of socio-economic, institutional and technological activities. Environmental changes may be driven by many factors including economic growth, population growth, urbanization, intensification of agriculture, rising energy use and transportation. Poverty still remains a problem at the root of several environmental problems
