Environment meaning

According to dictionary environment is "the surrounding or conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives or operates.

Word "environment" is most commonly used describing "natural" environment and means the sum of all living and non-living things that surround an organism, or group of organisms. Environment includes all elements, factors , and conditions that have some impact on growth and development of certain organism. Environment includes both biotic and abiotic factors that have influence on observed organism. Abiotic factors such as light, temperature, water, atmospheric gases combine with biotic factors (all surrounding living species). Environment often changes after some time and therefore many organisms have ability to adapt to these changes. However tolerance range is not the same with all species and exposure to environmental conditions at the limit of an certain organism's tolerance range represents environmental stress.

abiotic components are non-living chemical and physical factors in the environment which affect ecosystems

Biotic
components are the living things that shape an ecosystem. A biotic factor is any living component that affects another organism, including animals that consume the organism in question, and the living food that the organism consumes. Each biotic factor needs energy to do work and food for proper growth. Biotic factors include human influence.

according to earth science environment is divided in to four sphere

lithosphere,
hydrosphere,
atmosphere,
biosphere

Biosphere
it is the global sum of all ecosystems. it can be also called the zone of line on earth (a region 10000 m below sea level and 6000 m above sea level ) it include about 350000 of species or plant and animal. Biosphere is a closed and self regulatory system .it integrated with 3 other sphere of environment(Lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere)
